The Washington Township Fire Department is a combination department. Staffing is accomplished primarily through the volunteer fire companies and augmented by a career staff during the hours of 6:00 am until 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. From 4:00 pm until 6:00 am and on the weekends, the volunteer members of the Grenloch, Whitman Square, and Hurffville Fire Companies will respond to all incidents.Volunteer firefighters remain an integral part of the fire department.Each fire company is continuously recruiting

new firefighters. To become a firefighter, a person must be at least 18 years old. Each company has a Junior Firefighter Program for persons between the ages of 16-18 years old. Parental consent is required to join the Junior Firefighter Program.

You can also download an application and return to the Washington Fire District Headquarters at 213 East Holly Ave. between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. If you are unable to drop your completed application off during the times listed above, call 863-4000 and other arrangements will be made to meet your schedule.
