This week, WTFD Firefighter Robinson and Firefighter Garofalo completed Technician-Level Swiftwater/Flood Rescue training hosted by Safety and Survival Training, LLC, and CCFA Training . The course began with swimming and water-treading tests, followed by extensive hands-on practical evolutions in moving-water conditions at Scudders Falls in Trenton, New Jersey.

This training better prepares our companies for response to flooding and rapidly rising stormwater events, including vehicles stranded in flooded roadways, flooding within residential areas, and incidents involving lakes, retention ponds, or dam failure.
