It is that time of the year that we remind everyone about how dangerous fireworks can be. Obviously besides starting fires, fireworks can cause serious bodily injury. Be smart this summer.
Ouch!
Just after 11am today, the WTFD along with several mutual aid agencies responded to a report of a house fire on Pilgrim Court. While companies were responding, the communications center advised of reports of people trapped.
Fire Department resources arrived in 3 minutes from time of dispatch and conducted searches. The fire was placed under control within 20 minutes.
Fortunately, a neighbor was able to assist the elderly occupant out of the house and the fire department confirmed no other occupants were in the house.
The fire is currently under investigation. There were no injuries to report.
